Why the Boiler Suit isn’t a throw away trend.

OK I have to admit. The words, ‘If I see one more boiler suit in the shops this Summer, I’ll squeal.”Enter Autumn and I have fallen in love with them all over again. The boiler suit is a wardrobe staple that both Men and Women can enjoy wearing. Hell, you could even share it with your boyfriend! They’re comfy, they look cool, you don’t have to put a lot of thought into styling them. What’s not to love?

A few years ago, I purchased my very first boiler suit from George at Asda which on reflection, wasn’t actually a boiler Suit at all. It was more of a ‘fancy’ boiler Suit if you will. It was Khaki Green, had an open collar, cropped sleeves but no buckled belt. I loved it. I wore it to death. But I always got funny comments whenever I wore it. I genuinely didn’t think it was daring at all in comparison to what I usually wore. Ever since then, my love of boiler suits has stayed, except for a breif time in Summer ’19.

2018 came and I bought 3 in that one year. January 2019 I bought a leopard print one which I still love and wear. But Summer seemed to really overdo the whole “trend”. Every where I looked someone was wearing a boiler suit. And to be quite honest. Once something becomes trendy, I no longer live for it.

However, in Autumn, I feel you can really put your own spin on items and make them look and feel your own, which is why I am 100% back on the boiler suit bandwagon like I have been for years.Take my word for it, this isn’t a trend or a fad. It’s a staple. Keep scrolling to check out some of the best on the high street.
