Ballymena means Fashion – SP

Hello again friends, welcome back to another Blog Post. I am quite excited about this one.

So, if you don’t know by now, I am obsessed with fashion. (As if you couldn’t guess) I also LOVE exploring new areas to shop.

When I was invited to the Ballymena means Fashion event, you can only imagine my joy. I was getting to explore a brand new area that I hadn’t been in years. This was going to be a great day.

The morning began with breakfast in Middletown Coffee Company where Pamela Ballantine hosted a Q & A with two local business owners in Ballymena and Cathy Martin.

After breakfast, I had the chance to explore all the shops in Ballymena at my leisure. (I am sure you can guess that I spent a LONGGGG time here).

Oh, and before I forget to mention… Parking in Ballymena is only £1 for 5 hours! Bargain!

We parked up just behind the Tower Centre, where I knew there was a Primark – and you know me, I could not pass here.

After this, I ventured in to Wallace’s Shoe Shop where I spied the most amazing matching sets you will ever set your fashion loving eyes on.

As I had a wedding in a few days, (and was shoe-less) I picked up these absolute beauties. I am not a fan of plain court shoes so the cute heart on the side really set these off for me.

McKillen’s Fashion was next on our list as I spied the homeware and handbags from the street. Their range of Guess Handbags and Scarves are TO DIE FOR; and their homeware would make the perfect gift for even the most picky friends.

Marmalade Boutique was another shop that I had planned to stop by as I have been following this shop on social media for so long and just haven’t had the chance to pop in and say hello.

I picked up this beautiful Traffic People Dress, which I wore, to Afternoon Tea at the Galgorm.

Now, TK Maxx is always a bit of a “Hit or Miss” store for me, but boy did the Ballymena shop deliver! Their selection of basket / beach bags are so on trend for Spring Summer 18, they have a bag to suit everyone’s taste and is super affordable!

Fairhill is the shopping centre I always remember from Childhood, when I would go with my family for shopping trips to Ballymena. So I was curious to see how much it had changed.

I was pleased find that Fairhill is home to some of my favourite high street shops such as H&M, Topshop, New Look and Marks & Spencer’s.

Another well-known Independent store in Ballymena is Cameron’s, which is home to some favourite brands; such as Katie Loxton and Joules, they also have a great beauty hall too.

As you can imagine, we were hungry by this stage after walking approximately 5 miles around Ballymena, (maybe a slight over exaggeration). So we stopped in for lunch at Chocoa Couture. I am such a chocolate fiend so you can take a guess at how I felt when I spied this bad boy.

We were advised by Laura in Chocoa Couture to visit Fred Funk., and were we glad we did. The shoes in here suit me down to a tee as they are so quirky and as the name suggests…. Funky 🙂

I had told my mum in the morning that there was a lovely Antique shop in Ballymena that I just had to visit but I couldn’t remember the name… That is when we spied it, attached right next door to Outdoor World. A shop that sells literally everything you need for any outdoor activities. Including an inflatable flamingo.

Angela’s Antiques is what I can only describe as my heaven. I am a huge fan of vintage/ vintage style jewellery, and I had the most fun trying on these rings.

Another shoe shop that we had made sure not to miss was McKillen’s Shoes. Mum had told me all about how she used to bring me here for my school shoes 20 years ago!

Our last stop was Woodsides Pharmacy – a beautiful pharmacy where the interiors have not changed in 100 years!

They stock my favourite perfume, Jenny Glow and a new brand that is exclusive to the pharmacy – Verset. This brand makes dupes of your favourite designer perfumes!
