Staying True to your own Style

Hi everyone! Last week, I went in to my local Primark and found the most AMAZING coat. I know, I’m on a spending ban… BUT, I have been on the lookout for a padded parka with a hood and long enough to cover my bum. As you might have seen already, I am going to NYC in March, so the coat is mainly for my trip.

Anywho, back to Primark. The leopard padded coat (with added furry hood) was down to £20. PERFECT. I tried it on, I fell in love. The only problem. Was it too extra?

I then spied a black in same said coat, yeah OK it was nice, it would go with more, and it wouldn’t stand out too much.

I was in a bit of a pickle. Go with the coat I love with the worry that I would get sick of it, or go with the basic reliable black that would go with everything?

I asked Instagram, and also my Mum to help me out with this one. Instagram loved the leopard, and to quote my Mum, “What Would Megan (Ellaby) Buy”? She would buy the damn leopard print and not give a heck what anyone thought. So that’s what I did.

This may seem very insignificant to some of you, but it got me thinking, why shouldn’t I buy the loud, OTT coat, life is always going to be more fun when your clothes are.

I know this coat isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s OK. You aren’t going to please everyone.

As long as you stay confident and wear the clothes you love,  everything will look good on you.

So if you’re ever in the same situation as me and have to pick between the piece you love or the more sensible option, just think to yourself, “What would Yasmin do?”

PS. Spoiler Alert, I’d pick the OTT one.
